The COINTELPRO PAPERS - Chapter 8: Conclusion →
All Americans need to realize that it’s not only in places like the Middle East that war is perpetrated on countries’ own citizens. This is only the conclusion and the whole book is worth reading. It’s shocking, horrifying, and explains a lot about why there is such socio-economic dissonance between a large percentage of the Black American community and the rest of the...

Iggy
Iggy’s 13 years old now, and she’s finally starting to show the signs of a “geriatric” dog. She’s lost a lot of her hearing, so she startles when she’s sleeping and you suddenly sit next to her to feed her her heart medicine hidden in a piece of cheese, or walk in the front door and rouse her from her deep dream state enjoyed on her special pillow. The...

Non-sequitur du jour
I’m a server in a 24 hour diner. Among other items, we serve tater tots, lots of tater tots. Last night I served a young lady a bowl of said tater tots. A few minutes later, I checked on her and asked her if everything was okay. She replied, enthusiastically: “Yes, I’m from Kansas… so these are really good!”

It’s scary to think that the only thing that stands between me and morbid obesity is about a month of daily french fry consumption.

Is it possible to OD on watermelon?
Something tells me it is. I mean, it seems innocent enough. A melon made of water, during a time of 105 degree days, seems like the the perfect food. And yet…the sugar. It’s filled with delicious, pinky-red, juicy sugar. Sugar that is poised to attack me in some way, that when ingested commences a vicious chain of insulin highs and lows and hormone imbalances and water retention and...

MRI stands for motherfucking really intense
Leg problems. Need MRI. Go for MRI today. This is what happens. Led into room. Room with giant MRI tube thing. I ask tech if my whole body needs to go in there. Yes, she says. I lie down on the sliding thing and they slide me into the tube, my head about an inch away from the top of the tube, and freak out. The thing they have given me to squeeze in case I need to contact them in case I am...

Choices
So either I finish writing this fucking thesis, or I kill myself. This is not a cry for help, just the voice of an incredibly frustrated non-academic trying to write a 60 page academic paper on a topic on which I am by no means an expert even though I have been researching it on and off for months. The facts seem to keep changing. Or maybe I am seeing things differently. And the fact that...

IARU Climate Change Congress
This is it, where the climate elite meet to eat and greet. Such a world of controversy…the sponsors are oil and energy and biotech companies, among other seemingly (definitely) evil entities. Some protesters are claiming that climate change is a myth to keep the already impovershed down, now THAT’S a new spin. I’ve only ever heard right-wingers say climate change is a myth. But...
